Former Missouri soccer player dies in car accident

Meggie Malm, a Missouri soccer player from 2003-06, died in a car accident, north of Bloomfield, Iowa, on Thursday afternoon. She was 22.

“This was a tremendous loss to the Missouri soccer family,” coach Bryan Blitz said on the Missouri athletic website. “Meggie was the ultimate teammate who embodied everything good about life through her character, spirit, and heart.”

Malm played in 74 games for Missouri, including 63 starts. She played mostly as a defender for the Tigers.

Malm graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in engineering in May 2007. She was working toward an MBA at MU.
