PrintCOLUMBIA — Police arrested a fifth man Saturday in connection with a home invasion and sexual assault last week in north Columbia.
Police said a group of three juveniles and two adult males raped and sodomized a 16-year-old girl after breaking into the home and tying up five children, who were between ages 7 and 16, with duct tape.
Jarrod Lilly, 29, of 4324 Bethany Drive, turned himself in to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department late Saturday morning after a warrant for his arrest was issued Friday. Both Lilly and Christopher Lee Jacobs, 17, the other adult suspect, were arrested on suspicion of forcible rape, forcible sodomy, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, felonious restraint and armed criminal action in connection with the incident.
The three juveniles — two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old — were taken into custody Wednesday and Jacobs was arrested on Thursday. Lilly and Jacobs were being held at the Boone County Jail on $600,000 bond on Sunday night.
The five suspects wore dark clothes and bandanas and were armed with handguns, according to police report. Police said the suspects broke into the house in an attempt to locate several pounds of marijuana.
Police said the suspects stole a Sony PlayStation 2, jewelry, household furnishings, food and change.
The victims’ names and their address are being withheld by the Missourian to conceal the identity of the sexual assault victim.
