The circus comes to town

As children poured through the front gate, anxious to witness the spectacle of Carson and Barnes traveling circus, ring master Brad Lee, left, and high wire and trampoline tumbler Eric Fernandes pass the time at the performer’s entrance. The circus was in Columbia on Monday for one night only.

Billy Morris, the elephant trainer for Carson and Barnes traveling circus, guides an elephant as she sets in place the first poles to raise the big top. Elephants have been a part of their family since the circus began four generations ago.
