The Rock Bridge boys soccer team lost to Raymore-Peculiar 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Rock Bridge Field.

After a scoreless first half, Raymore-Peculiar got goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half from Cameron Hockett and Gustavo Ramirez and continued to outplay the Bruins with Hockett scoring again in the 75th minute. Rock Bridge senior Gentry Coffman responded a minute later with the Bruins’ lone goal.

“Right now,” Bruins coach Kirby Keth said, “until we get a quality intensity of play in practice and trasnfer it into our games, we’re going to continue to struggle.”

HICKMAN BOYS SOCCER: The Kewpies earned a third-place finish in the Quincy Notre Dame Tournament in Quincy, Ill., by defeating Morton (Ill.) 4-3 Saturday night. Senior Evan Camden scored three goals to lead the Kewpies’ offense. Junior Mason Morawitz totaled two assists, and sophomore Taylor Cox had one. Hickman, which finished 2-1 during the two-day event and improved to 7-6 on the season, will host Marshall at 7 p.m. Tuesday night.

MU CROSS COUNTRY: The men’s and women’s teams earned 10-place finishes at the 22nd annual Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday in Minneapolis, Minn. Top finishes include sophomore Dan Hedgecock placing 28th out of 211 men’s runners with a time of 25:10, and junior Angela Potrykus finishing 47th out of 257 women’s runners with a time of 22:35. The Tigers continue their season Oct. 12 at the Bradley Invitational in Peoria, Ill.

STEPHENS COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY: Stars runner Julia Hanson became the first medalist in the history of the program Saturday afternoon, finishing in the top 10 of Central Methodist’ 5K race at the Gary Stoner Memorial in Fayette. Hanson finished 10th in the 43-runner field in 22:01. Stephens finished fifth out of five teams at the meet.
