COLUMBIA — With road games against two top-10 teams looming for the Columbia College volleyball team, Wednesday night’s game at home against Illinois-Springfield could have been troublesome. But the No. 10 Cougars easily disposed of the Prairie Stars 30-19, 30-23, 30-26.

Columbia College coach Melinda Wyre-Washington said that her team is not overlooking any opponent.

“I don’t think at this point that we can overlook anybody,” Wyre-Washington said. “We have to come in prepared each night, and I think the girls did a good job of that tonight.”

The win improves the Cougars to 13-4 overall and 8-0 in American Midwest Conference play. The Cougars have won 12 of their past 14 games.
