Wabash Station was originally built in 1910 and served as a railway station until 1964. The city has owned it since 1982.

The station is currently used as the central hub for the city’s public transport system. It recently underwent a renovation and expansion project totalling $3.5 million. A covered walkway was added, and repairs were made to the walls and roof. and made room for a larger indoor waiting area in the historic depot.

The dedication ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Senator Christopher S. “Kit” Bond is scheduled to speakat the ceremony.
