The official Ask a Silly Question Day was started 20 years ago by teachers hoping it would push their students to ask more questions in class.
Although the day (Sept. 28) has passed, we picked up the cue and checked in with the National Park Service, which keeps a list of silly questions fielded by their park rangers. Here are a few:
Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona: “Is the mule train air-conditioned?”
Everglades National Park, Florida: “Are the baby alligators for sale?”
Denali National Park, Alaska: “What time do you feed the bears?”
Yosemite National Park, California: “Can I get my picture taken with the carving of President Clinton?”
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming: “Does Old Faithful erupt at night? How do you turn it on?”
