COLUMBIA — The Columbia College men’s soccer team saw its conference season championship hopes take a hard blow Tuesday night, losing 2-1 in double overtime to Mckendree University. Cougar forward Justin Robinson tipped a Chris Wright shot that skipped past the Mckendree goalie with six minutes left in regulation to send the game into overtime. However, Mckendree scored the game winning goal with two and a half minutes left in the second and final overtime, giving it the victory and sole possesion of first place in the American Midwest Conference.

Cougar goalie Zach Clem had a steller performance, making 25 saves during regulation and the extra periods. The loss sends Columbia College to 3-2 in the AMC, 4-9 overall, and drops the Cougars from second place to fourth in the conference standings.
