The No. 9 Columbia College volleyball team travels to St. Louis to play an important conference game against Missouri Baptist on Thursday. The Cougars, 14-6 and 8-0 in American Midwest Conference play, are just two wins away from clinching the AMC regular season championship.
The Cougars have swept Missouri Baptist (15-8, 6-1) twice this season in Columbia. Despite the success her team has had against the Spartans, Columbia College coach Melinda Wrye-Washington said she expects her team to be completely focused on the task at hand.
“Were at the point of the season where every game is important with nationals coming up,” Wrye-Washington said. “If we aren’t disciplined then we’re going to slip up and that’s going to hurt us.”
