COLUMBIA — Through the first four matches of the Big 12 Conference schedule, the MU volleyball team couldn’t put anything together. The next four have been completely different.
The Tigers (11-6, 4-4 Big 12) returned to .500 behind 22 kills from Na Yang and 17 from Megan Wilson in a 30-23, 30-23, 30-28 sweep of Texas A&M (13-6, 3-6 Big 12) on Wednesday at Hearnes Center.
“In all honesty, we haven’t talked at all about the record,” MU coach Wayne Kreklow said. “(But) it’s a big step, and it’s a great thing to get back in the middle again.”
Redshirt sophomore Amanda Hantouli, who led the team with a .556 hitting percentage, said that the momentum boost couldn’t be coming at a better time for the Tigers, who will face Nebraska, Texas and Kansas State in the next two weeks.
“We’re on a four-game winning streak now, and I just think we’re going to keep snowballing,” she said.
