As alumni and parents descend on MU’s campus to watch the parade, tailgate and attend the Texas Tech game during Homecoming weekend, those running the “For All We Call Mizzou” campaign hope fans will enjoy the sights and sounds of campus. There are no plans to encourage alumni to donate during Homecoming weekend, said Beth Hammock, director of external relations for the “For All We Call Mizzou” campaign. Instead, she hopes alumni and parents will reflect on their Homecoming experiences the next time they consider a donation.
“It is helpful when people come back and see everything that is happening on campus,” she said. “People feel more connected with the university after actually being on campus.”
In its seventh year, the campaign has raised more than $826 million for the university. The campaign’s goal is to raise $1 billion by spring 2009.
The intent of the campaign is to raise money for students, faculty, programs and facilities. Donors may give to a variety of funds, including the Chancellor’s Fund for Excellence, and funds in all of the schools and colleges.
