Two safes stolen from vacuum store

COLUMBIA — The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is looking for the person who stole two safes from a vacuum cleaner store sometime late Monday or early Tuesday morning.

According to a release from the department, someone broke into Clean Air Unlimited, 6801 W. Highway 40, between 11 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday and took two safes containing an undisclosed amount of money, assorted jewelry and other items. A firearm was also stolen during the burglary, the release said.

The owner of the business declined to comment about the burglary.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 875-1111.
