COLUMBIA — The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded contracts Wednesday for three highway projects in Boone County.
The commission approved a low bid of $7.93 million to Emery Sapp & Sons Inc. for construction of a new interchange on U.S. 63 near Gans Road. The interchange will be located 1.35 miles south of the Route AC exit and construction may begin as early as late 2007.
The commission selected Chester Bross Construction Co./C.B. Equipment Inc. for a $2.65 million resurfacing of about 9.4 miles of the westbound lanes of Interstate 70. The project will stretch from Stadium Boulevard to the Missouri River bridge and will begin in March or April 2008.
The commission also approved a $23,907 contract for a fence along the east side of U.S. 63 just south of Route AC. The safety project is slated to begin in November and will be built by D&S Fencing Co.
