Woman in serious condition after traffic collision

COLUMBIA — A Columbia woman involved in a two-car collision was listed in serious condition Wednesday morning at University Hospital.

Christy W. Scott, 30, was making a left turn onto Paris Road from Mexico Gravel Road at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday when her vehicle hit a car traveling north on Paris road, according to a press release from the Columbia Police Department.

Scott was listed in serious condition at about 11 a.m., said Kathy Richardson, a spokeswoman for University Hospital. The other driver, Nicole Miller, 23 of Columbia, was not injured, according to the release.

Miller was wearing a seat belt, but police are unsure if Scott was wearing one.
