Hickman runners win boys district meet

The Hickman boys cross country team won the Class 4 District 5 championship Saturday at the Cole County Fairgrounds in Jefferson City, advancing to the sectionals Class 4 Sectional 3 next week in Columbia.

The Bruins earned 44 points and defeated Francis Howell North (53) and eight other teams at the meet.

Sam Masters was third and Joey Walls fourth. Jordan Fleming (eighth), Zach Lynn (13th), Jamon Kimbrough (16th), and Christian Hulen (25th) were Hickman’s other sectional qualifiers.

The Hickman girls cross country team did not qualify as a team, but Emma Myers finished 14th to qualify for the sectional as an individual runner.

Rock Bridge finished fifth with 122 points. The top 30 individual runners and the top four teams advanced.

should be "The Kewpies earned..."
