COLUMBIA — A man is suspected of shooting himself in the leg early Friday morning while carrying a firearm in his front pants pocket, according to Columbia police.
The man was walking to FastLane Convenience Store, 2116 Paris Road, when the firearm went off in his front pants pocket, police said.
He was taken by private vehicle to the Boone Hospital Center emergency room, where he was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the lower leg.
Columbia police Sgt. Ken Hammond said the investigation is still ongoing.
