Police investigating armed robbery in central Columbia

COLUMBIA — A Columbia man was robbed at gunpoint at about 10:20 p.m. Sunday as he walked in the 1000 block of Madison Street in central Columbia, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

The man was walking north on Madison Street when two males walking south on the street approached him. The suspects demanded money from the victim, and each produced a small-frame semi-automatic hand gun. The suspects then left with the victim’s cash.

The suspects were last seen running north on Madison Street.

Police are looking for a 6-foot-1 black man, 160 to 180 pounds with a shaved head. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans. The second suspect police are looking for is a 6-foot white man, 160 pounds with light-colored hair. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket.
