Rock Bridge soccer gets past Hickman

COLUMBIA — A goal by senior forward Brian Breeding was enough for fifth-seeded Rock Bridge to beat first-seeded Hickman in the second round of the Class 3 District 10 playoffs Tuesday night at Rock Bridge Field.

Breeding took a through-ball from junior midfielder Adam Ross, cut around the last Hickman defender and put the ball in the top-right corner in the 53rd minute to beat Hickman goalkeeper Justin Schmidt.

“With our boys’ level of confidence tonight, and the past couple of games really, they feel like they can beat anyone,” said coach Kirby Keth. “They really wanted it and they were really ready to play.”

Rock Bridge will play the winner of the Helias/Smith-Cotton game for the district championship Thursday night at Rock Bridge Field.
