COLUMBIA — The Voluntary Action Center is seeking sponsors for 350 families in need this Christmas.
The 24th annual Christmas Program is asking local businesses, churches, civic groups, families or individuals to provide the makings of a holiday meal and at least one new gift for children up to age 18, and elderly and disabled people.
Sponsors can shop for the families or send a donation, which the action center will convert into gift certificates. Interested sponsors should call the center at 449-6959 before Thanksgiving.
