A 2-1 loss to Kansas on Friday gave the Missouri women’s soccer team a No. 4 seed in the Big 12 Conference Tournament. The Tigers will play No. 5 Texas Tech at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Blossom Soccer Stadium in San Antonio, Texas.

Missouri sophomore forward Michelle Collins scored her 11th goal of the season early in the first half Friday for 18th ranked Missouri (7-9-4, 5-2-3), but the host Jayhawks tallied goals in the 71st and 74th minutes.

“We lost our focus for about 20 minutes,” Tigers coach Bryan Blitz said in a release. “…When you play away from home, or even in the Big 12, it is just something you can't do.”

Texas A&M earned the top seed in the Big 12 tournament, and if Missouri can win in its opener, the Tigers will advance to play the winner of the Aggies’ game against No. 8 Iowa State. Texas is the No.2 seed, and Kansas is No. 3.
