COLUMBIA — MU Extension’s Home Ownership Made Easier program will receive a $10,000 grant from an Iowa bank for workshops and education for prospective home buyers.
Curt Heidt, a vice president and investment officer at Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, plans to present the extension program with the grant on Thursday.
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines is a cooperative bank that operates in a five-state area, including Missouri. The bank provides low-cost funding for community building, according to its Web site.
“Part of our mission is to help support affordable housing for home buyers,” said Gary Dodge, director of community investment for the bank.
The $10,000 grant the MU program will receive is one of four the bank will distribute.
