COLUMBIA — The No. 6-ranked Columbia College volleyball team advanced to the semifinals of the Region V Tournament by defeating Central Methodist University on Tuesday 30-18, 30-18 and 30-20.

The win was the 15th consecutive victory for the Cougars, improving their record to 28-6. Junior setter Luana Branco said she thinks that her team is finally starting to play up to its potential.

“Each game we are getting better,” Branco said. “Because from now on we know that we are ending (other teams’) seasons. So we have to be strong.”

Columbia College will play its semifinal game at 7p.m. Tuesday at the Southwell Complex in Columbia.
