COLUMBIA — A Columbia man was indicted in U.S. District Court on Friday after prosecutors said he possessed child pornography and distributed it over the Internet.
The indictment alleges that Raymond Darrell Ford, 47, distributed the material on June 20, and that he was in possession of child porn from June 8 through Aug. 15, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s office.
The case is a part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse, the release said. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force, the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team and the Columbia Police Department were involved in the investigation, according to the release.
