Missouri ranks 49th in spending on higher education over the last five years

The numbers certainly paint a discouraging picture: Over the past five years, spending on higher education in Missouri has decreased by 9.9 percent, a worse percentage than in any other state but one: Colorado. Between 2005 and 2007, however, Missouri dropped to 50th in the nation in the percent increase in appropriations for higher education.
