COLUMBIA β Two men abducted and raped a woman in downtown Columbia early Saturday morning while she was getting into her car, Columbia police said.
The two men abducted the woman at about 3:14 a.m. near the Generic Nightclub, 1025 E. Broadway. The pair then took turns forcibly raping her while driving around town, police said.
βAt this time there is no indication that the victim or the suspects were at the club,β said Columbia police Sgt. Ken Gregory.
One suspect was described as a white man in his early 20s, 6 feet 6 inches tall, 240 pounds with short brown hair and a tattoo on his left forearm. The other suspect was described as a black man in his early 20s, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds with short hair and a scar on the front of his neck.

This is a horrible crime, yet I cannot find it in either the Tribune or KOMU. Why isn't this being reported more?
This seems like the most violent year in Columbia in a long time. While the murders are down, robberies seem to be increasing. If not increasing in number, certainly in violence. I'm glad I'm getting out of this town.
