Michayla Strother, a student at Jamestown C-I School, will receive a $1,000 savings bond as part of the 2007 Bonnie Plants Third Grade Cabbage Program. The award will be presented by Katie Smith, director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture. Michayla participated in the cabbage program last year and was selected from more than 90 Missouri students who participated.
Air Force Airman Neal T. Krause graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base. During the six weeks of training, Krause studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs and courtesies. He is the son of Theodore Krause and Deborah Thompson, both of Harrisburg. Krause is a 2007 graduate of Harrisburg High School.
Tonia Compton of Columbia received a Presidential Fellowship from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Compton, who is getting a doctorate in history, received a fellowship stipend of $24,000.
