COLUMBIA — A 22-year-old man was tied up and his apartment robbed at about 8 p.m. Saturday, Columbia police said.

Police said the victim opened the door to his apartment at 1021 Southpark Drive after an acquaintance knocked on the door. The male acquaintance entered the victim’s apartment and sat down. After several minutes, two more men entered. One of the men had a large handgun, which was used to strike the victim in the face. All three men proceeded to order the victim to lie down on the floor while demanding money, and then tied his hands and legs together.

The suspects ransacked the apartment, eventually taking an undisclosed amount of money and some sports jerseys.

After the suspects left the scene, the victim freed himself and contacted police. He had abrasions on his face and a small cut on his lip, but refused medical attention.

Police are looking for three black males in their late teens and early 20s.

The first suspect is described as 6-foot-2 inches and between 180 and 200 pounds and was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The second suspect is described as 6 feet tall and between 170 and 180 pounds, and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a red bandanna over his face. He was carrying a large-caliber chrome handgun.

The third suspect is described as 6 feet 2 inches and 190 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black or blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
