COLUMBIA — Ye Won Lee, a 27-year-old MU student reported missing by her family Sunday, apparently flew to Korea without notifying her family.

Lee’s family reported her missing after expecting her to show up at their Indiana home Thursday, according to Columbia police. When she didn’t arrive, they drove to Columbia and contacted police.

Police said Lee’s car was found at Parkade Plaza near the Mo-X shuttle service. Lee purchased and used an airline ticket to travel to Korea via St. Louis and Chicago, arriving abroad on Friday.

Police said they believe she left the country on her own accord and suspect no foul play. They are working to verify Lee’s whereabouts with her family.
