MU women's swimmers win invitational

The No. 18 MU women’s swimming and diving team won the Boilermaker Invitational on Sunday, totaling 821.5 points, finishing 185 points ahead of second place Purdue.

Junior Kendra Melnychuk won the 3-meter diving competition during the 3-day event, as well as the women’s platform diving event. The other Tiger to win on Sunday was sophomore Colleen Gordon in the 1650-yard freestyle event in 16:45.60.

The No. 20 MU men’s swimming and diving team took second place in the invitational with 661 points. Purdue won with 730 points.

Junior co-captain Jake Hoffmann took fourth place in the 200-yard backstroke and sophomore Dylan Lynn won the consolation final in the 100-yard freestyle.
