Suspect in Break Time robbery arrested

COLUMBIA — A Columbia man was arrested Monday in connection with a robbery of a Break Time convenience store.

Scott A. Shavers, 20, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery about 4:09 a.m. Sunday at Break Time, 301 Nebraska Ave.

Police said the suspect sprayed a 36-year-old clerk with what was presumed to be Mace or pepper spray and then left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Shavers was arrested at about 2 p.m. Monday at home on Lincoln Avenue.
