COLUMBIA — Columbia police have little information after responding Saturday night to shots fired from one or both of two vehicles at the intersection of Stadium Boulevard and Business Loop 70.

Police found shattered glass and three 9 mm shell casings at the scene, Sgt. Lloyd Simons said, but are unsure whether anyone was injured, who fired the shots and what the shooter or shooters were targeting.

A witness who was driving her car at the time called police around 10 p.m. Saturday saying she had heard gunshots coming from two vehicles ahead of her, Simons said. She was stopped several car lengths behind the two vehicles that she said sped through the red light.

The witness described one vehicle as a “gray boxy-style four-door passenger car” and the other vehicle as a “small passenger car,” according to a police news release. There is little information about the vehicles’ drivers.

Anyone with any information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 875-8477.
