Travel packages to the Big 12 Championship game this Saturday were selling quickly today.

Summit Travel of Columbia sold out of travel packages to Saturday's Big 12 Championship game this afternoon.

The Alumni Association and Great Southern Travel in Columbia said they have sold out of their Big 12 Championship packages to San Antonio.

Brian Garrison of Great Southern Travel said the business had an enormous amount of package requests when they began booking on Sunday.

“It was roughly 3 p.m. before I could catch my breath,” he said.

No matter the outcome of the Big 12 Championship game, Garrison said Great Southern would begin selling packages to the Tigers’ final game of the season at 8 a.m. Sunday.

Travel packages vary but can include air or ground travel, game transportation, hotel accommodations and tickets.

Game-bound travelers who are making their own arrangements can reserve a hotel room or check availability through the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau Web site at sanantoniovisit.com.

Game tickets went on sale today and are only available through Ticketmaster.
