PRAIRIE HOME — The Bulldogs won 70-37 on Monday night against Prairie Home.
Douglass relied on a full-court press, which allowed the team to get 27 steals. Senior Cameron Scott led the Bulldogs with 30 points and 13 steals, while junior Brandon Gleason had 13 points and five steals. Senior Landon Boone added 10 points, four steals and two blocks.
Prairie Home kept the game close early, but by the end of the first half the Bulldogs had built a 37-19 lead. Douglass scored most of its points on fast break layups.
“If it hadn’t been for our trapping defense and our guards and our layups we would’ve been in trouble because we weren’t shooting the ball real well,” Douglass coach Lynn Allen said. “I thought Prairie Home got more out of their talent than we did tonight.”
Allen said that his team needs to improve on its rebounding and shooting before Friday’s home game against Wellston-Eskridge.
