COLUMBIA — Three water main breaks in different parts of the city Wednesday morning were unrelated, a Columbia Water and Light Department manager said.

At mid-morning, water main breaks at Broadway and Providence Road as well as Bernadette and Stadium Boulevard were being repaired, Floyd Turner, manager of water operations for the department, said.

A third break had already been repaired by 9:45 a.m.

The break at Broadway and Providence was due to corrosion, but the cause of the break at Bernadette and Stadium hadn’t been determined, Turner said.

Turner said those two repairs should be finished between 10:30 and 11 a.m.

“We normally can get them repaired in a couple of hours,” he said.

No customers were affected by the break at Stadium and Bernadette, Turner said, and three customers were affected by the Broadway and Providence break.
