So far, school's on for Friday

Thursday, December 6, 2007 | 5:04 p.m. CST

So far, Columbia Public Schools will be open Friday.

Road conditions will be tested between 4 and 6 a.m. Parents can find out whether school is called off in a number of ways, including the district’s Web site, www.columbia.k12.mo.us, and CPS Alert, a text-messaging service available through the Web site. The Missourian will post an update as soon as we know more.

A list of what other area schools will be doing in response to the snowfall:

Christian Fellowship School, Heritage Academy and Stephens College Children School say they will follow what Columbia Public Schools decides.

Columbia Independent School says it will make a decision by 6 a.m. Friday. It is unlikely the school would make a decision tonight based on current weather conditions, officials said.

Good Shepherd Lutheran School says it will see what other outlying schools are doing before making a decision.

Columbia Montessori School says it will wait until at least 9 p.m. tonight and will make a decision by 6 a.m. Friday.
