SHOP RECYCLED: Fear the recycled gift no longer.

It doesn’t have to be made of old soda cans or tires to be recycled. Nor does it have to be last year’s yogurt maker—never used and expertly repackaged. Any gift that is getting new life can count as recycled: a piece of collage art from Spare Parts Gallery (8 S. Ninth St.) or a pair of earrings from Maude Vintage Clothing & Costumes (818 E. Broadway) certainly make the grade, as does the yogurt maker.

Some benefits of recycled gifts: They generally consumer fewer resources than brand new ones. Buying reused and repurposed goods will support businesses already invested in recycling. And if they say they already have one, you know that they’re probably lying.
