Columbia police looking for armed robbery suspects

Columbia police are looking for two men in connection with an armed robbery Thursday night outside a Garth Avenue apartment building.

At about 9:43 p.m., a 25-year-old male was confronted in front of his apartment by two masked suspects, one of whom was armed with a shotgun, according to a police news release. The suspects received an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim. They then entered the victim’s apartment, confronting the 21- and 49-year-old women inside, but left without taking anything.

None of the victims were harmed, according to the release.

The armed suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet, 1 inch tall and 180 pounds, with a dark complexion. At the time, he was wearing a dark-colored ski mask, gloves and dark clothing.

The other suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 165 pounds, with a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a colored scarf and a blue-checkered shirt.
