Woman robbed in Paris Road parking lot

COLUMBIA — Columbia police are looking for a man armed with a knife who stole an undisclosed amount of cash Friday night from a 25-year-old woman in a Paris Road parking lot.

About 7:15 p.m., the woman used the U.S. Postal mailbox located in a parking lot at 1814 Paris Road.

As she returned to her vehicle, a man with a knife confronted her, according to a Columbia police news release.

He demanded money, took the cash and ran southwest, according to the news release.

The victim was not hurt.

Officers searched the area, but did not find the suspect, who is described as a 30-year-old black male, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, of medium build and wearing a dark coat and stocking cap.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 875-8477.
