COLUMBIA — Columbia police are investigating shots fired early Sunday morning in a convenience store parking lot.
Around 2 a.m., officers heard three to five shots coming from the MFA Breaktime at 110 E. Nifong Blvd., according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department. Officers responded as an estimated 30 people were trying to leave the scene.
Police said they could not determine who fired the shots, but a search of the scene led to the recovery of ammunition casings.
The store’s clerk also heard the shots immediately after a disturbance in the parking lot, the release said.
Columbia police are asking anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 875-8477.
