COLUMBIA — After leaving a restaurant in east Columbia Friday night, a 20-year-old woman discovered a middle-age man stealing items from her vehicle.
Faoorq Saalik, 37, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery and armed criminal action, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.
According to the police report, at 11:31 p.m. the woman and another person were leaving Houlihan’s Bar and Grill, 2541 E. Broadway, and found someone rifling through the vehicle in the parking lot. The woman confronted the person, and they began to struggle over her property. The attacker threatened to shoot the victim but did not display a gun, police said.
The victim then called police. No injuries were reported.
Saalik was observed entering Applebee’s Restaurant where he was arrested by police and later charged, the release said.
At 11 a.m. Saturday, Saalik was being held in the Boone County Jail and bond had been set at $300,000.
His previous charges include numerous counts of stealing, property damage, peace disturbance, operating a motor vehicle without a license and driving without insurance.
