City offices, most services closed for New Year’s Day

COLUMBIA — City offices and most city services will be closed Tuesday for New Year’s Day.

Residential trash, recycling and yard waste collections will be delayed one day starting Tuesday and lasting through Friday. Questions about waste removal should be directed to the Solid Waste division at (573) 874-6291.

Administrative offices for the Police and Fire department will be closed, but all emergency services will still be operating. Other services that will be closed for the holiday include city buses and the sanitary landfill. Parking at city meters will not be enforced.
