COLUMBIA — The majority of online message board posts after Tuesday’s Cotton Bowl reflect that people still think Missouri got the short end of the deal when it came to this year’s Bowl Championship Series selections.

There is still a regular amount of team bashing that usually occurs on message boards between rivals, but nonetheless a lot of people are still pointing to the BCS unfairly placing Missouri where it did, in a Cotton Bowl game where the Tigers routed Arkansas 38-7.

“Too bad our season was sullied playing a second rate bowl opponent. You guys are awful and we belonged in the Orange Bowl. I hope the FBI looks into this because the money involved boils down to wire fraud,” said a user identified as MizzouFreak on Tigerboard.com.

Several other posts on Tigerboard comment on how the BCS games this year have not been impressive so far.

“Great job BCS ... so far your games have been the worst,” said an MU fan with the username SixTigers.

A few MU fans wrote of their hope that the television networks who televised the games complain about the huge mismatches, saying that the networks lost money since people didn’t watch as much of the games.

An Oklahoma fan and a Kansas fan extended their praise to Missouri for a great season and for representing the Big 12 Conference .

In the forum on Kansascity.com, a couple of posters discussed the unfair media coverage of Arkansas throughout the game.

One board user, SportsNutz31, even said people would have believed it was called the “Arkansas Bowl”, not the Cotton Bowl.

A few MU fans said they were happy Missouri ended up playing in the Cotton Bowl, and this just proved the Tigers were a great team.

Even a few Arkansas Razorbacks fans give congratulations to Missouri’s win on boards.ESPN.go.com and said Missouri showed they deserved the BCS selection over Kansas.

“Mizzou was a BCS team that got robbed of what you had earned during the year. You sure backed that point up today,” said a user identified as Hogburger.

Whether or not Missouri really deserved a place in a more prestigious bowl game seems to be a topic that will be talked about for some time.

However, that Missouri had a fantastic game against Arkansas at the Cotton Bowl is not one that seems to be questioned by many after looking at the online message boards.
