Marijuana, cocaine, $25,000 cash seized from Seventh Street residence

COLUMBIA — 52 pounds of processed marijuana, $25,000 cash and 4 grams of powder cocaine were found by Columbia police at a residence on Seventh Street on Thursday evening, Capt. Brad Nelson of the Columbia Police Department said.

The processed marijuana, packaged for sale, was found in various places at the residence, Nelson said. He said the monetary street value of 52 pounds of marijuana is conservatively $46,000.

Two men were arrested after a search warrant was served at 807 N. Seventh St. at 8:40 p.m,, according to a news release from the department. Both are being held at Boone County Jail.

Miguel Ramos, 34, was arrested on two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. His bond is set at $35,000. Jose Danilo Marquez, 27, was arrested on one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. His bond is set at $25,000.

The St. Charles County Drug Task Force, Drug Enforcement Administration and Columbia Police Narcotics Unit conducted a joint investigation into marijuana sales, which led to the arrests.
