PrintCOLUMBIA — An Xbox, games and some DVDs were stolen from the Kappa Sigma fraternity house about 3 a.m. Tuesday, said Sgt. Ken Hammond of the Columbia Police Department.
Two 19-year-old males at the house, which is located at 110 E. Stewart Rd., told police they were awakened by noises and chased the suspects out of the house, according to a news release from the department. The two men told police that the suspects had forced their way into several rooms and had stolen several items.
While searching the house, police found one person, Stephen Pickens, hiding in a third-floor bedroom, Hammond said.
Some of the stolen property was found in Pickens’ possession, and he was arrested on suspicion of first degree burglary and felony stealing, according to the news release.
Pickens was released to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department after his arrest, Hammond said.
Pickens is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, according to his Facebook profile. He is a resident of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house at 24 E. Stewart Road.
Another suspect, Daniel M Ringkamp, 20, turned himself in around 3 p.m. Tuesday. After he was charged with first degree burglary and misdemeanor stealing, he was released into the custody of Boone County Corrections. Ringkamp is also a resident of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house.
