COLUMBIA — The woman injured in Tuesday afternoon’s crash on U.S. 63 South has been identified as Christie A. Parkhurst, 37, of Columbia.

She was in serious condition at University Hospital as of Wednesday afternoon, said media coordinator Jeff Hoelscher.

Battalion Chief Steven Sapp, of the Columbia Fire Department, confirmed that Parkhurst was traveling south on U.S. 63 near Stadium Boulevard when her vehicle, a 2002 Ford Windstar, traveled off the west side of the road and down a steep embankment. At the bottom of the embankment, Parkhurst’s vehicle became airborne, striking several trees before coming to rest on all four tires.
