Sunday, January 20, 2008 | 5:33 p.m. CST

Preliminary sketches for Columbia’s new high school were released at last week’s school board meeting. The plans will be finalized at the end of this month, and final design development is scheduled to begin in March. Columbia Public Schools plans to break ground on the new building on land northeast of town in February 2009, and phase one of the project should be complete by August 2010.
