COLUMBIA — Police released a photograph today of a man suspected of robbing Stoney Creek Inn.
Police responded to the hotel just before 2 a.m. Monday, said Columbia police Sgt. Michael Maynard. The clerk, a 26-year-old Columbia woman, told investigators a man jumped over the counter and grabbed money from the cash register. She tried to stop him, but he pushed her away and fled the scene on foot.
The victim described the suspect as a white male in his 20s, between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall. He wore a tan baseball cap, a tan three-quarter-length winter coat, blue jeans, white socks, black shoes and a plaid scarf.
