What do you think about the governor's decision to not run for a second term?

Tuesday, January 22, 2008 | 4:50 p.m. CST

Gov. Matt Blunt announced Tuesday afternoon that he will not run for re-election this year. In an address he posted to his YouTube site, the governor said the goals he set out to complete four years ago were achieved and that he wanted to spend more time with his family.

What do you think about the governor's announcement? Who should represent the Republican Party in the general election for governor this year? Do you believe the governor has accomplished all the goals he set out to tackle four years ago?

A fascinating development. Could it be the e-mail debacle, which promises to be one of the major FOI stories of the decade in Missouri? Or is it just his anemic approval ratings?
Perhaps we'll know once the depositions get rolling in...
