COLUMBIA — Democrat Lyndon Bode has filed for a seat on the Missouri 9th Congressional District.

Bode, who is the presiding county commissioner for Marion County, is competing for the Democratic nomination with Rep. Judy Baker, D-Columbia. Duane Burghard said in 2006 that he planned to run again when he lost to incumbent Kenny Hulshof but has since said that he will likely wait until 2010 to run for office, when Sen. Christopher Bond, R-Mo., is expected to retire.

Bode, 44, plans to improve highways, bridges, sewer systems and other infrastructure in the 25 counties of the 9th Congressional District, which includes Boone County.
