COLUMBIA — Bill Clinton plans to visit MU on Saturday to campaign for his wife ahead of Missouri’s presidential primary.
Carly Lindauer, press secretary for Sen. Hillary Clinton’s campaign in Missouri, said Bill Clinton plans to speak at 4:30 p.m. at the Mizzou Rec Center.
“He will focus heavily on the issues that matter most to the people in Missouri," Lindauer said. “He will discuss Sen. Clinton’s plan to improve the economy and healthcare and end the war in Iraq.”
The rally called “Solutions for America” is open to the public.
Caitlin Ellis, an MU junior and the president of the MU College Democrats, said the event will be free. The rally will be held at the north complex of the Rec Center on the basketball courts.
Bill Clinton will make other stops in Missouri this weekend.
He will visit Springfield at 8 p.m. on Saturday and St. Louis at noon on Sunday, said Rep. Rachel Storch, the Missouri state director for the Hillary Clinton campaign.
Clinton campaigned for Hillary Clinton, D-New York, last Saturday in Independence. Missouri will hold its primary on Tuesday.
